The history of money has been shaped by change and adaptation. On August 15, 1971, U.S. President Nixon ended the gold standard, marking a significant turning point. Until then, the 1944 Bretton Woods Agreement, with its gold backing, had ensured stable currencies.

Since that day, the dollar and the currencies linked to it, including the euro, have been fiat currencies without intrinsic backing. They are issued without tangible value and steadily lose purchasing power. In Germany, the euro has been the seventh currency since 1871 and, due to inflation, is moving ever faster toward its final phase.
